- Dr. Shailesh Raina is an internationally-trained and an acclaimed Urologist with +33 years of experience in the field of urology.
- He is a professional member of the Indian Medical Association.
- In 1975, Dr. Raina did his MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College, University of Pune and then in 1981, did his MS. In 1987, he went to the UK to pursue D.Urology, Institute of Urology, University of London.
- In his over three decades of career as a urologist, he has handled +12,000 cases. Dr. Raina is the first person in India to use the HPS 120 Watts Laser for Prostate. Dr. Raina is also the first doctor to use 180 green light laser for BPH. He also helped set up the Stone clinic at JHRC in 1989, introduced lithotripsy, upper tract endourology (PCNL & URS), & has expertise in minimally invasive techniques for stone diseases.
- Dr. Raina conducted the first-ever workshop on neuropathic bladder in India in 2006 and the urologist in the country to conduct the LDDM (Latissimus Dorsi Dynamic Myoplasty for Atonic Bladder) since 2006.
- Dr. Raina is an accomplished urologist, reputed for treating various urological conditions such as, stress urinary incontinence, endourology and laser (stone and prostate), renal transplant, andrology, neurology and female urology and male erectile dysfunction. He also performs MIS for urology and Transurethral Incision of The Prostate (TUIP).
- He was a faculty too for Diplomat National Board in Urology and at lectures and workshops of the Mumbai Urological Society, the USI, Mumbai Obstetric and Gynecology Society, Asian Congress of Urology, Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons, S.I.U (Indian Section) and ASEAN.
- Dr. Raina has contributed a few research articles to leading journals.
