Prof. Dr. Basil Ammori

Prof. Dr. Basil Ammori is an internationally recognized Consultant Laparoscopic, Bariatric, and Hepatobiliary Surgeon at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi. With an illustrious career spanning 35 years, he is a leading pioneer in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, having performed thousands of complex laparoscopic operations in the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

He graduated with an MBChB from the University of Baghdad and completed higher surgical training in the UK, earning FRCSEd, FRCS (Eng), MD, and his CCST. Prof. Ammori was honored with the Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in recognition of his groundbreaking research and clinical innovations in minimally invasive pancreatic and bariatric surgery. He previously served as Consultant Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Honorary Professor of Surgery at the University of Manchester.
