• Four-month-old Rohaan from Pakistan suffered from a peculiar congenital cardiac condition described as D-transportation of great arteries with abnormal origin of main arteries from opposite chambers with multiple VSD and severe pulmonary hypertension.
  • On July 14, the infant was operated at Jaypee Hospital, Noida by Dr. Rajesh Sharma and his team.
  • Dr. Sharma said that the little one had a hole in his heart and the aorta which was supposed on the left side, was located on the right side of his heart.
  • On the contrary the pulmonary arteries were located on the left side, added he.  
  • Because of multiple VSD in his heart the blood that flowed through his body lacked oxygen causing cyanosis.
  • Due to this conditon, Rohaan was susceptible to breathing problems along with pneumonia.
  • After a 5 hour long surgery he was put on ventilation and a tracheotomy was performed.
  • He will be dicharged  when the hospital deems it fit.
