Eligibility for Medical Visa from Russia to India

Applicants who travel to India for a medical treatment should apply for an Indian medical visa.
-
The applicants must choose Indian hospitals that are reputed/recognized/specialized.
-
Only two medical attendants can accompany him/her to India during his/her medical travel. They should be blood relatives.
-
There is a non-exhaustive list for which the medical visa is granted which includes, cardiac treatment, neurology treatment, organ transplantations, cosmetic treatment, congenital defects and disorders and others.
Important Documents Required for Indian Medical Visa from Russia

Completely and correctly filled online visa application form. The form should be printed on two sheets of paper.

One current color photograph of size 3.5cmx4.5cm having frontal view of face against a white background.
-
Passport with a validity of 180 days or 6 months having two blank pages.

Proof of address or residence that matches with the applicant’s current address on the visa application. For instance, driving licence, utility bills for water, electric, sewage, copy of a valid lease with the signature of the tenant/landlord.

A certificate of preliminary medical advice from the local doctor that proves that the applicant is advised to for a specialized medical treatment.

An official letter from the concerned hospital in India stating the applicant and his/her medical attendant’s name, the patient’s ailment and their consent to provide medical treatment to him/her for their ailment.

For minors (below 18 years old):

Birth certificates are required that contains parents’ name, date of birth and nationality. Only birth certificates are accepted for Russian nationals; Indian nationals can provide with birth certificates, old Indian passport or school leaving certificate; other country nationals have to provide a birth certificate or any other government document (translated to English and notarized) that has the parent’s name, date of birth and nationality.

Important pages of both the parents’ passports bearing their photo and signature.

Visa applications for minors should contain both the parents’ signature and should be notarized with a notary stamp and sealed.

Online Application of Indian Medical Visa from Russia

Click on Regular Visa Application at the Indian Visa Online website.

Enter details about the name of your country, high commission, your date of birth, nationality, e-mail id, expected date of arrival in India and visa type. Click Continue after entering the access code.

Fill up each of the three pages of the form with the correct details and click on Save and Continue at the bottom of each page.

Put your family address and your profession or occupation.

Enter the details regarding your medical visa application that includes: the hospital in your country, the concerned hospital in India, time taken for the treatment, no. of entries, reason of visiting the country, expected date of journey, estimated arrival and departure time in India, other information, details about SAARC country visit and reference.

In case you do not have a reference in India, you can provide Vaidam’s contact details, that is, the office address and contact number, only if you travel through the company’s assistance.

A preview of the online visa application form will appear in a new window once you click Save and Continue on the third page.

Go through them thoroughly. Click Verified and Continue if every data entered by you is correct. In case of rectifications, click on Modify/Edit.

Read the set of instructions that appear in another new window and click OK for final registration. For any changes, click Cancel.

Select an appointment date for the submission of medical visa application from the mission counter in the new window and click on Confirm the Appointment.

On doing so, in a new window, you will get two options: Save and Print. Save the online visa application.

Click on Print Registered Application to get a print of the visa application form.

Paste one recent color photograph of 3.5cmx4.5cm size against a white background with full frontal view of the face. Do not staple it to the form.

Put your full signature inside the rectangular box located just below the photo box. Do the same in the second page as well. The signature box is located at the bottom.

Submit the application form along with the necessary documents at the Mission Counter on the appointed date. The date is mentioned at the right margin of the application.

Medical Visa Information after Your Arrival in India
Medical Visa Extension
When the duration of treatment / recovery is more than the patient’s duration of stay in India, a medical visa extension becomes necessary. In order to apply for a medical visa extension the patient or his/her medical attendant has to fetch an official letter from the concerned hospital authorities in which the patient’s medical condition, treatment procedure and the extra time required for the completion of the treatment is mentioned. He/she then has to go to the FRRO office and apply for a medical visa extension by submitting the letter sanctioned by the hospital along with other required documents.
FRRO
Registration, departure, visa extension and other aspects regarding foreign travellers’ arrival, stay and departure from India is duly administered by Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO). They have to register themselves in the FRRO office after they arrive in India. The documents to be submitted for registration are:

Photocopy of the passport and the initial visa.

E-Tourist Visa from Russia to India
One can apply for an e-tourist visa when he/she requires short term medical treatments / check-ups. The documents required to apply for e-tourist visa are:

PDF version of the scanned first page of the passport whose size should be between 10KB to 300 KB.

The applicant should upload a recent digital photograph that follows the following criteria:
-
The size of the photo should be between 10KB to 1MB.
-
The height and width of the photo should be of equal length.
-
The photo should contain full face, front view of the applicant with his/her eyes open.
-
From top of the hair to the bottom of the chin of the applicant should be clearly visible. Head should be at the center of the frame.

Background should be either white or plain light color.
-
No shadows should be there on the face or the background.
-
The photo should not contain any borders.
