Vaidam Health Organised a Specialist OPD Consultation Camp in Liberia with Indian Doctors

Liberia, a country with a rich history, has made progress in healthcare. However, access to senior specialists, especially for brain, spine, and cancer conditions, can still be difficult for many patients. Long travel distances and high treatment costs often delay expert consultations.

To help bridge this gap, Vaidam Health organised a two-day specialist OPD consultation camp in Monrovia, Liberia, in collaboration with Amrita Hospital, India. Held at Adventist Cooper Hospital, Sinkor, on 17th and 18th December 2025, the camp enabled patients to consult experienced Indian doctors without having to travel overseas.

The camp focused on brain & spine disorders and cancer care, areas where early specialist advice can significantly improve diagnosis, treatment planning, and long-term outcomes.

Expert Care by Dr. Anandh Balasubramaniam and Dr. Vidit Kapoor

The OPD camp featured consultations by two highly experienced specialists from India:

Dr. Anandh Balasubramaniam, a neurosurgeon at Amrita Hospital, provided expert guidance to patients with complex neurological and spinal conditions. 

Through detailed clinical assessments, Dr. Anandh helped patients understand their condition, reviewed existing reports, and advised on further investigations or treatment pathways where required.

Alongside him, Dr. Vidit Kapoor, Medical Oncologist from Amrita Hospital, consulted patients with various cancer-related concerns.

Dr. Kapoor focused on clarifying diagnoses, reviewing treatment histories, and guiding patients on evidence-based cancer care options.

Both specialists spent time listening carefully to patients, reviewing medical records, and explaining conditions clearly and reassuringly.

Patient Response and Feedback

Patients welcomed the opportunity to consult senior specialists locally. Many had been living with long-standing symptoms or unclear diagnoses and expressed relief after receiving explicit medical opinions and guidance.

The camp allowed patients to:

• Get clarity on their diagnosis
• Understand whether surgery or advanced treatment was required
• Learn about available treatment options in India, if medically advised

The response highlighted the importance of bringing specialist consultations closer to patients, especially in regions where such expertise is not readily available.
