Vaidam Health and Apollo Fertility Offer New Hope with IVF Camp in Addis Ababa
In a significant step towards making specialised fertility care more accessible in Ethiopia, Vaidam Health, in collaboration with Apollo Fertility, successfully organised a two-day IVF camp at Addis Hiwot General Hospital, Ethiopia, on January 24th and 25th, 2025. The initiative aimed to provide expert consultations and fertility guidance to individuals and couples struggling with infertility.
Understanding Patient Needs and Concerns
Dr. Ramiya Mishra, a seasoned fertility specialist from Apollo Fertility, India, led the camp. Over the two days, the clinic welcomed more than 40 individuals and couples, all seeking expert guidance on their personal fertility journeys. The atmosphere was filled with hope and anticipation as patients interacted with Dr. Mishra for one-on-one consultations.
The primary fertility issues observed among the patients were Fallopian Tube Blockages, Uterus Cysts, Fibroids, Endometriosis, Unexplained Infertility, Ovarian Cysts, and many more fertility-related disorders.
Encouraging Response and Future Expectations
The overall feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with patients showing keen interest in attending more such camps in the future. However, they emphasised the importance of having procedure-based setups integrated into future camps.
Looking Ahead
The camp at Addis Hiwot General Hospital marks another significant step in our mission at Vaidam Health to make specialized healthcare more accessible in underserved regions through global partnerships. The feedback and heartfelt conversations we had with patients in Addis Ababa clearly highlighted the urgent need for advanced fertility treatments within Ethiopia.
At Vaidam Health, we recognize this growing demand and are committed to expanding the scope of future camps in collaboration with Apollo Fertility. Our goal is to move beyond consultations and bring diagnostic and treatment services, including IVF procedures, closer to those who need them. We believe in providing access to world-class fertility care for every patient who needs it right in their community.
