In a remarkable display of international collaboration and medical innovation, Vaidam Health and Max Super Speciality Hospital, India, came together for a medical camp in Uzbekistan. The camp was held on June 5th and 6th, 2024. It aimed to provide specialised medical consultations and support to individuals dealing with neurological and oncological conditions.
Uzbekistan, like many nations, boasts a healthcare system dedicated to enhancing primary care services. However, there exists a noticeable gap in access to specialised medical treatments, particularly in areas such as neurological disorders and oncological care. Recognising this difference as an opportunity for change, we extended the reach of specialised medical expertise beyond borders.
Experts: Dr. Shailesh Jain and Dr. Amrita Ramaswami
Dr. Shailesh Jain, a distinguished neurosurgeon with over 21 years of expertise, led consultations on complex neurological conditions, including spinal disc herniation, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease. His wealth of experience offered patients renewed hope and viable treatment pathways.
Joining Dr. Jain was Dr. Amrita Ramaswami, a renowned medical oncologist with over 11 years of practice. Specialising in benign and malignant haematological disorders, bone marrow biopsy, and stem cell transplantation, she provided invaluable guidance and treatment strategies to patients suffering from various forms of cancer. Her presence provided much-needed support to those seeking clarity and direction in their cancer treatment journeys.
To Summarise
The camp attracted over 55 patients, offering them valuable access to expert guidance and assistance. The patients' response was extremely positive, with numerous individuals expressing a strong desire for more frequent medical camps.
Our continuous efforts are focused on making advanced healthcare accessible to all, ensuring that patients can receive top-quality medical care within their own country.
