IVF camp at Ethiopia

In the past ten years, Ethiopia has greatly improved in all necessary treatment areas. It is one of the few sub-Saharan African countries that has made significant investments in the public health sector, leading to improvements in healthcare outcomes.

However, noticeable gaps are seen when it comes to technology such as assisted reproductive technology (ART). Challenges such as premature death of foetus, suboptimal quality of life, and declining female fertility remain significant health concerns. This could be possibly due to limited medical infrastructure and less advanced clinical facilities.

To address the fertility issues and extend healthcare services, Vaidam, in collaboration with NOVA IVI Fertility, conducted an IVF medical camp in Ethiopia on July 4th and 5th, 2024.

Our Expert at the Medical Camp

With over 19 years of experience, Dr. Aswati Nair is a well-known Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist. At the medical camp, her ability to meticulously address pregnancy-related issues, including recurrent pregnancy losses, fallopian tube blockage, and other women-related medical conditions, was truly remarkable.

She provided consultations to patients based on the ultrasound examinations conducted at the camp, recommending the most effective treatment options available. Additionally, she advised some patients to schedule regular follow-ups for their IVF treatment.

To Summarise

The medical camp attracted over 60 patients, many of whom had queries related to fallopian tube blockage issues. The patients' response was positive, with many of them expressing a necessity for frequent IVF medical camps in the future.

Vaidam has conducted more than 15 medical camps in Ethiopia in the last two years. Such initiatives bridge the gap in medical facilities among nations, improving healthcare worldwide.
