Transforming Liver Care: A Successful Medical Camp in Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Liver conditions such as cirrhosis, fatty liver, and chronic liver disease are becoming an increasing health concern in Uzbekistan, which often go undiagnosed until advanced stages.
Responding to this urgent need for specialised care, Vaidam Health, in collaboration with Shalby Hospitals, organised a highly successful OPD medical camp in Samarkand on November 27th and 28th, 2024.
Expert Consultations by Dr. Shailendra Lalwani
The camp was led by Dr. Shailendra Lalwani, a renowned Liver Transplant Surgeon from India, who consulted with patients and spread awareness about early diagnosis and treatment options.
With extensive expertise in managing complex liver conditions, such as chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, fatty liver, liver failure, and transplant-related care, Dr. Lalwani provided each patient with personalised advice and a clear treatment roadmap. His compassionate, patient-first approach was widely appreciated.
Strong Patient Turnout and Engagement
The camp witnessed 35 patients seeking expert consultation for a range of liver-related ailments. Many attendees had long struggled with unresolved health issues and found answers, reassurance, and hope during their sessions.
Beyond consultations, the camp also served as an educational platform, emphasising the importance of early detection, routine screenings, and healthy lifestyle habits in maintaining liver health.
A Shared Commitment to Global Health Outreach
This initiative reflects Vaidam Health’s mission to connect international patients with expert care and Shalby Hospitals’ commitment to extending clinical excellence beyond borders.
Together, we aim to bring timely, quality healthcare closer to underserved communities around the world.
Looking Ahead
We sincerely thank the people of Samarkand for their warm hospitality and trust. Encouraged by the overwhelming response, Vaidam Health and Shalby Hospitals plan to organise more such camps across other regions.
At Vaidam Health, we remain committed to making world-class medical expertise accessible, no matter where patients are.
