A Successful Transformative Cancer Care Camp by Vaidam Health at Lusaka, Zambia

Cancer care remains a significant challenge in many parts of the world, particularly in regions with limited access to specialised treatments. With many families struggling to find timely, expert care, Vaidam Health recognised the need for direct intervention. In collaboration with HCG Hospitals, a transformative two-day cancer care camp was organised at St. John’s Medical Center in Lusaka, Zambia, on December 7th and 8th, 2024.

The camp aimed to provide local patients with access to expert consultations and personalised cancer treatment, ensuring they could receive the necessary care without the added burden of travelling abroad."

Senior Cancer Expert from India

Dr. Tushar Pawar, a renowned cancer surgeon from HCG Hospitals in India, provided expert care for conditions such as Head and Neck Cancer, Thoracic Cancer, Breast Cancer, Gynecological Cancer, lung cancer, and other solid tumors.

During the two-day camp, he provided thorough evaluations, accurate second opinions, and detailed treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. His compassionate approach reassured patients, offering them much-needed clarity and hope for their cancer journey.

Impact of the Camp

Around 25 patients attended the camp, seeking expert advice for various oncological conditions. For many, it was their first opportunity to meet a senior cancer specialist without needing to travel overseas.

Patients expressed immense gratitude for the time and attention given to their concerns. They left the camp feeling well informed, more confident about their treatment options, and empowered to make critical decisions about their health.

The event also focused on raising awareness about early detection, cancer prevention, and timely intervention, vital aspects in improving cancer survival rates.
