Successful OPD Consultation Camp in Ethiopia by Vaidam Health and Medanta Hospital
Vaidam Health, in collaboration with India’s renowned Medanta Hospital, organised a highly successful two-day OPD consultation camp at Addis Hiwot General Hospital, Haya Hulet, Addis Ababa, on June 26th and 27th, 2025. This initiative aimed to bring world-class expertise directly to patients in Ethiopia and surrounding regions, strengthening Vaidam’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare across borders.
Expert Medical Team
The camp featured two top consultants from Medanta Hospital: Dr. Karanjit Singh Narang, a Senior Neurosurgeon specialising in brain and spine-related conditions, including tumors, degenerative spine diseases, and neurotrauma, and Dr. Harpreet Wasir, Senior Cardiac Surgeon, Expert in advanced heart conditions, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and valve surgeries.
Consultations Offered & Community Response
Throughout the camp, both doctors provided personalised consultations to 25 patients for various conditions, including heart rhythm and valve issues, brain and spine disorders, and stroke recovery. The patients were able to receive face-to-face evaluations, treatment guidance, and actionable second opinions.
The patients appreciated the opportunity to receive high-quality consultations from leading Indian doctors without the logistical and financial challenges of international travel.
“I was confused about my surgery options until this camp gave me clarity. It was reassuring to speak directly with such senior doctors,” said one of the patients.
Another added, “Dr. Wasir’s advice gave me clarity on my heart condition. I’m thankful for this chance to consult him in Addis itself.”
Strengthening Healthcare Access
This OPD camp showcases Vaidam Health’s ongoing commitment to delivering top-quality medical care to international patients, particularly in regions with limited access to specialised services. By working closely with leading hospitals like Medanta, Vaidam continues to bridge geographical and informational gaps in the healthcare industry.
Looking Ahead
Following this impactful camp, Vaidam Health plans to launch similar initiatives across East Africa, focusing on specialities such as oncology, orthopaedics, cardiology, and neurology.
