Head trauma can lead to long-term complications, especially when multiple surgeries are involved. For Nfansu Jarta, a 37-year-old from Gambia, the journey to healing has been long and challenging since suffering a head injury from a fall in 2011.

Following the fall, Nfansu underwent multiple cranial surgeries in Europe. In 2014, due to osteomyelitis, part of his frontal bone had to be removed. He experienced occasional seizures and continued to live with a frontal bone defect, which significantly impacted his life. Seeking a permanent solution, Nfansu reached out to Vaidam Health for guidance.

Vaidam Health quickly responded to his inquiry and managed all logistics, from helping him secure a medical visa to coordinating consultations with one of India’s top neurosurgeons, Dr. Satyakam Baruah at Amrita Hospital in Faridabad.

After a thorough evaluation, the medical team recommended a cranioplasty using a 3D custom-made PEEK implant. The procedure involved the reexploration of a bifrontal incision and frontal reconstruction with a 3D-printed implant, effectively restoring the defect caused by previous surgeries.

Nfansu underwent surgery, and his recovery progressed smoothly. During his stay, the Vaidam staff was always available to support him and ensure that his personal and medical needs were met.
