Leading Orthopedic Surgeon and Nephrologist Visits Vaidam Office For An Educational Session

Dr. Ishwar Bohra and  Dr. Vishal Saxena from BLK Super Speciality Hospital recently visited Vaidam to interact with the team and have a discussion about their respective fields. During the session, Dr. Ishwar Bohra discussed several orthopedic procedures such as:

• Knee Replacement: It is a surgical method also known as knee arthroplasty. The process involves the replacement of the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint to relieve pain.

• Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine: This surgery provides an evaluation of sports injuries to the knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, hip, and elbow. 

He also talked about osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become weak and brittle. These fractures mostly occur in the hip, spine, or wrist because just bending over or coughing can cause this fracture. 

After that, Dr. Vishal Saxena talked about renal transplantation and nephrology. 

• Renal transplant surgery: It involves the placement of a healthy kidney from a living or deceased donor into a patient whose kidney can’t function properly. The surgery takes about four hours, and if the kidney is replaced with a living donor, it will start working very quickly. 

• He also talked about critical care nephrology and chronic kidney failure. However, there is no cure for chronic kidney failure, but proper treatment can help to stop getting it worse. In later stages, dialysis or transplant may be required.
