I am Kenga Thony Heuriette. I am from Cameroon.

What brought you to India?

I had an extreme pain radiating from my lower back to my feet. I had difficulty walking and I was scared of falling down. Also, I used to feel numbness after standing continuously for more than 2 minutes. When I consulted a spine surgeon here in Cameroon, I came to know that I had a herniated disc. Since there are limited resources in Cameroon, I wanted to visit India to get the best treatment.

How did you choose the hospital for your checkup?

When I was searching for the best spine surgeons in India, I found out about Vaidam on Internet. I posted a query on their website and received a call back from one of their case managers. The case manager helped me with the list of topmost doctors and their profiles. The case manager also got me hospital opinions and associated quotes.

How was your visit to India arranged?

Finally, I decided to visit the Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon. The Visa Invitation Letter was arranged by the team from the hospital. The visa application process was also done by the Vaidam team. They also arranged accommodation as per my preferences. Even the pickup and drop off to the airport was not my headache. They facilitated my trip very smoothly.

What was your experience at the hospital?

After I arrived in India, I was picked up from the airport and my appointment was scheduled with Dr. Sandeep Vaishya. He took a detailed medical history and heard me patiently. He also conducted the physical examination and advised further investigations. After the reports came back, the doctor suggested to me that I would need spine surgery. Following this, the surgery was conducted at a scheduled time. I had to stay in the hospital for a few days after which I got discharged. Since then, I have been recovering very well.

Tell us about your overall experience of the visit.

My entire visit was very successful. Everything was arranged by Vaidam and went on systematically. The treatment in the hospital went well and successful. The entire staff was cooperative and helpful for all my requirements. Thanks to the team and the hospital for the support.
