• Jaslok Hospital and Research Center from Mumbai has announced the beginning of a functional Neurosurgery clinic in Hyderabad.
  • Hyderabad’s Neurosurgery Clinic is the pioneering initiative of providing neurosurgical treatment to people with neurological disorders. This will bridge the treatment gap between the two cities.
  • Chronic neurological disorders that interrupt day-to-day activities are referred to as functional neurosurgery. Functional neurosurgery is performed to make the symptoms of nervous system disorders less severe.
  • Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is one such functional neurological treatment that precisely targets anatomic structures to modulate neurologic function. It is an effective treatment to treat functional neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease, tremors, epilepsy, dystonia, and other movement-related disorders.
  • Jitendra Haryan, CEO of Jaslok Hospital, said, " We are thrilled to expand our neuroscience services and offerings to people beyond Mumbai."
  • He believes, the newly launched functional neurology clinic will substantially enhance service delivery and comfort patients. Also, he is looking forward to collaborating with more Indian states to extend their services.
