- Smoker donors can donate but have to quit at least 2 days before & 4 weeks after the transplant.
- Regular alcoholics can not become donors.
- Around 70% of cases of liver transplant are because of consumption of alcohol, hepatitis B, and C.
- Diabetic & overweight people can't donate liver.
- The average age limit for a person to donate a liver is around 50 years.
- A healthy person who wants to donate is someone who isn't on any long-term medication, is not overweight, and has no signs of hepatitis B & C.
