He also mentioned that LIMA+RIMA-Y grafts are less riskier than stenting. These internal mammary artery (LIMA & RIMA) grafts are considered to be the best conduits as they are:
- Long-lasting
- Resistant to cholesterol blockages
- Can change as per the body's demands
- Capable of self-repair
He specifies that LIMA+RIMA-Y should not be performed in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, and MICS CABG cannot be performed in all patients, specifically those with poor heart function.
Dr. Chauhan also explained different valve surgeries, including the following:
- Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) Aortic Valve Replacement
- Peripheral Cannulation for MICS Valve Surgery
- Bentall Procedure
- DVR with Tricuspid Valve Replacement
He said, "LVAD was initially thought to be a bridge to heart transplants, but now the quality of LVAD has improved; hence patients do not require heart transplantation." Dr. Chauhan specifically mentioned that he prefers the CABG procedure over stenting.
