Cancer OPD Consultation Camp in Liberia with Dr. Prasad Eswaran

Liberia, a West African nation, continues to improve its healthcare system, but access to specialised cancer care remains limited for many patients. To help bridge this gap, Vaidam Health, in association with Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, organised a two-day OPD consultation camp in Monrovia.

The camp was held on 19th and 20th February 2026 at Adventist Cooper Hospital, 12th Street, Sinkor. Patients had the opportunity to consult Dr. Prasad Eswaran, a senior cancer specialist from Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, India.

Expert Consultation by Dr. Prasad Eswaran

Dr. Prasad Eswaran is a Medical Oncologist with around 19 years of experience. During the camp, he consulted patients with a wide range of cancer-related and complex medical conditions. His areas of expertise include:

• Metabolic disorders
• Ascariasis
• Chemotherapy-related side effects
• Oral lesions
• Lymphoma
• Edentulism
• Vascular anomalies of the brain and spinal cord
• Dengue fever in children

Through one-on-one consultations, he guided patients in understanding their condition, discussed possible treatment options, and advised on further management where required. His patient-focused, compassionate approach and clear explanations were appreciated by attendees.

Encouraging Patient Participation

The consultation camp saw participation from patients across Monrovia and nearby areas.  Around 26 individuals visited the camp to seek clarity about their diagnosis, ongoing treatments, and future care options.

Patients found the consultations helpful in understanding their condition better and felt reassured after receiving expert guidance from an experienced specialist.
