42-year-old Pamela Mehra from USA is finally Relieved of Her Prolonged Autism and OCD at Jaslok Hospital

• USA based 42-year-old Pamela Mehra was diagnosed since she was 3-years-old.
• Over time she lost social interaction and became virtually mute. The only way she could communicate with her family was through signs and actions.
• By the time she was brought to Jaslok Hospital, apart from autism and epilepsy she suffered from severe obsessive compulsive disorder and aggression.
• Her family approached a lot of doctors in USA and Germany but none of them was ready to perform a surgery on her.
• Neurosurgeons suggested her to go to Dr. Paresh Doshi, Director of Neurosurgery at Jaslok Hospital.
• After re-evaluation by Dr. Amit Desai, Consultant Psychaitrist at the hospital, it was concluded that her disease was severe that would not respond to medical treatment.

• After the surgery her condition improved by leaps and bounds.
• Her aggression is under control and she has gradually started to take part in social interaction as well.
