- Sachsenhausen Hospital was established in the year 1968 in Frankfurt, Germany; however, it has a rich history of 125 years where Prof. Dr. Carl von Noorden, a world-renowned expert in metabolic diseases, and Dr. Eduard Lampe founded the first diabetes clinic by the name of Sachsenhausen and grew it from there.
- In April 2016, the hospital was certified by the ISO: 9001 certifications as it maintained the quality standards of the highest medical requirements.
- Moreover, the departments of diabetology, cardiology, obesity treatment, and a sleep research laboratory in the hospital were awarded additional certificates of professional societies.
- The hospital has one of the largest sleep laboratories in Germany that diagnoses and cures all types of insomnias with a special ward for diabetology and an adiposity-surgical ward with more than 500 surgeries every year.
- The hospital also has an affiliation with the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main and acts as a teaching hospital named Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus.
