About Dr. Haitham Sawalmeh

  • Dr. Haitham Sawalmeh is a renowned General Surgeon with +12 years of experience in performing general and laparoscopic surgeries.
  • He is affiliated to the Jordanian Medical Association, the Emirates Medical Association, the Alexandria Endoscopy Association and the European Society of Coloproctology as a member. He is an associate fellow member of American College of Surgeons (ACS). 
  • After completing graduation in 2001, Dr. Sawalmeh studied at the, Crimean 'S. Georgijevsky' Medical Institute, Simferopol. He also holds a qualification from the Jordan Board Of General Surgery.
  • Dr. Sawalmeh is a leading general surgeon with expertise to perform, sleeve gastrectomy, cholecystectomy and biliary duct surgeries, gastric bypass, laparotomy, appendectomy, perforated DU repair, hemorrhoidectomy, anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus. He is also known to perform open and laparoscopic surgeries such as, bariatric surgeries, laparoscopic appendectomy, explorative laparotomies, Hartmann’s procedure, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, bowel resection and anastomosis and other minor surgeries.
  • He has been a part of the gastro-surgical oncology team and has worked on the creation of workflows and protocols to deliver excellent patient services. He was also a part of the proctology team and has experience of managing anal conditions such as, hemorrhoidectomy, Fistulectomy, THD,  sphincterotomy  and Fistula Laser Closure (FiLaC).
  • Dr. Sawalmeh actively pursues training residents and has been a supervisor to them, helping them prepare for surgical oncology cases for multidisciplinary meetings.
