Dr. Sunip Banerjee

Dr. Sunip Banerjee is a leading and well-known name among Cardiac Surgeons in Kolkata.

After doing MBBS and MD, he then did his DM from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He also has done several fellowships.

Dr. Banerjee is among the pioneers in interventional cardiology, radial intervention and primary angioplasty in eastern India. He has extensive experience in performing complex interventions including primary angioplasty. He also has a reputation for treating cardiac conditions across all branches of clinical and interventional cardiology, having performed +1,500 coronary procedures, +100 peripheral angioplasty and 15 renal angioplasty. He is dedicated to delivering better clinical outcomes and so is eager to adopt newer techniques and devices like FFR of which he has done +50 procedures and CRT implantations among others. He is reputed as a cardiac surgeon to perform radial angioplasty, primary angioplasty, peripheral angioplasty, besides offering cardiac resynchronisation therapy and treating heart failure cases. He and his team has done 100% radial surgeries; is skilled in managing complex CTO and bifurcation stenting including left main, has earned after-interventional track record, operated cases which were rejected by earlier hospitals and has achieved 4% in stent restenosis in LAD proximal stenting, which is lower than global rate. Dr. Banerjee has led investigations in clinical trials and has been invited as faculty/speaker at cardiological conferences including CSI, BIT, EuroPCR and NIC workshop, where he presented some case studies on CTO, complex peripheral angioplasty using newer techniques, bifurcation stenting, FFR and hardware. He has worked as a Principal Supervisor of academic courses at the Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences. Dr. Banerjee has co-authored few research papers for reputed medical journals.
