Dr. Shabeer Panangandy

Dr. Shabeer Panangandy is the Head of Department and Consultant Neonatologist at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi. With over 17 years of clinical medical experience, Dr. Panangandy provides specialized tertiary-level care for premature infants, critically ill newborns, and high-risk deliveries.

Dr. Shabeer completed his MBBS from Government Medical College Calicut in 2006, followed by an MD in Pediatrics in 2011. He attained his DM in Neonatology from the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore in 2016 and holds a DNB in Neonatology from the National Board of Examinations, India.

Clinical Expertise & Key Focus Areas:

• Comprehensive management of extreme prematurity and extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants
• Advanced conventional and high-frequency oscillatory neonatal ventilation (HFOV)
• Point-of-care functional echocardiography and neurosonography in neonatal critical care
• Therapeutic hypothermia for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and sepsis management
