Dr. Ramamurthy Baskaran

Dr. Ramamurthy Baskaran is the Division Chair of Anesthesia and Operating Room Anesthesia Director at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, possessing more than 17 years of post-qualification specialized experience in solid organ transplant and complex surgical anesthesia.

He completed his MBBS and MD in Anesthesia in India, followed by higher specialist training in the UK, earning Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA London) and the UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). Dr. Baskaran has directed transplant anesthesia teams.

Clinical Expertise & Key Focus Areas:

• Specialized intraoperative anesthetic management for deceased and living donor liver and kidney transplantations
• Continuous invasive hemodynamic monitoring, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and thromboelastography (TEG)
• Leadership and clinical protocol establishment for high-acuity surgical suites and operating room workflows
• Perioperative resuscitation, massive transfusion management, and post-transplant surgical intensive care
