After MBBS at Maulana Azad Medical College and MD at UCMS, New Delhi, she worked in the paediatric haematology-oncology and BMT unit at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital before completing her DM in paediatric oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She subsequently worked at Tata Memorial Hospital and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Varanasi, and trained in bone marrow transplantation at ACTREC.
