Immediately after the surgery you will have some pain and bleeding during urination. You can either go home on the same day or you can return back to your normal activities within one or two weeks.
You will probably wear a small drainage tube called a catheter, to help drain your urine for a few days and you will also be told to urinate frequently.
You may be discharged on the same day or you have to stay in hospital for overnight.

After the procedure you will have a thin flexible tube inserted into your bladder for draining out the urine. During the first few appointment it will be normal for you to have blood in urine. When no blood is seen coming from your urine then you can go home.
Bladder tumor biopsy and resection is a successful treatment for early stage bladder cancer. It can prevent cancer from spreading into the bladder muscle wall.
