Myringotomy is a surgical procedure to drain out fluid deposits or drain pus from the middle ear by creating a small hole in the eardrum.

During Myringotomy, the surgeon creates a small incision in the eardrum and inserts a small tube into the hole created to maintain drainage of fluid. This fluid may be pus, blood, and/or water.
