Ofori Atta Konadu is a 31-year-old banker from Ghana. He suffered from recurrent headaches as his eyesight gradually started to diminish. When he went for his treatment, he was told that he had a blood clot in his brain. Sadly, in Ghana there was no proper medication that could provide him relief. He, therefore, came to India for his treatment.
Where did you have your treatment in India?
I went to Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) for my treatment. Dr. Sandeep Vaishya put me under anticoagulant therapy.
How did your treatment go at FMRI?
It was really good. I got my eyesight back and the headache is gone. I was a bit nervous before meeting Dr.Vaishya as I thought he might suggest a brain surgery but it is incredible that through the anticoagulant therapy he prescribed I am now completely cured.
What was the therapy about?
It is based on medication. I was told that the therapy would help to dilute the blood clot in my brain, which it has successfully done. Certain blood tests were also conducted to keep an eye on my blood’s density and its clot forming features.
How many days were you here in India?
I stayed for 2 weeks. Dr. Vaishya told me that it will take almost a fortnight to completely cure the clot and I also had to be under his complete supervision. So for those two weeks I stayed in my hotel that was recommended to me by Vaidam.
When did you come across Vaidam Health?
I was looking for treatment options outside Ghana in the internet when I came across Vaidam Health. So, I enquired about my problems and they replied me back with a list of doctors and hospitals in India who could provide me with a proper treatment. I must also add here that in India, one can get the best treatments at a very reasonable cost.
How did Vaidam Health assist you in your medical trip to India?
They were very helpful. Dr. Amar, one of the patient managers whom I talked to helped me out with my visa application. There was some internet network problem in Ghana. I was so stressed and I didn’t know what to do but Dr. Amar filled the visa form and submitted my visa application. Throughout the medical trip they were very helpful, accompanied me to the hospital and were there whenever I needed them.
