What are the symptoms of epilepsy?

The most common symptom of epilepsy is seizures that can goes on for 10 – 30 minutes. The patient while shaking may vomit and become unconscious. Predominantly, the patient undergoes six kinds of seizures which are: tonic-clonic, tonic, clonic, myoclonic, absence and atonic seizures. After the seizure there comes postictal which can be defined as a period of confusion that the patient goes through before becoming fully conscious. Its time span ranges from 3-15 minutes to a few hours. Other common symptoms include exhaustion, headache, difficulty to speak and abnormal behavior. Localized weakness or Todd’s Paralysis may also occur.
