Whatsapp ChatWhatsApp Us
Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (BAV) is a percutaneous treatment option for severe, symptomatic aortic stenosis. Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty is performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory under local anesthesia, followed by a balloon catheter placement across the stenotic aortic valve. Aortic valvuloplasty is performed with balloon inflation with an aim to increase AVA and reduce the transaortic pressure gradient.

Frequently asked questions related to expenses that most patients have when planing for Balloon Valvuloplasty Aortic.

What is the cost of tests for Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty?

The package typically includes the cost of the tests too. The common ones before an augmentation cystoplasty include some  blood tests such as glucose level tests, blood clotting tests, blood chemistry, and blood count test.  Some other tests conducted for balloon septostomy includes chest x ray and electrocardiogram.

Are the pharmacy and medicines cost included in the package?

All medicines in the time frame that the patient is at the hospital are covered in the package. Medicines taken for recovery are usually not covered in the package price.

Is there any post-treatment expense after getting Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty?

Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty increases the heart rate because your blood pressure is reduced. A catheter with a balloon is being attached to the sheath into your heart using fluoroscopy.  You may feel some flushing sensation or metallic taste in your mouth but this will be only for few minutes. The valve is then inflated to open  up to three times. Once the procedure is complete, you will be taken to the recovery unit for observation and your heart rate is being monitored. Once you are well, then you will be taken to normal ward. The post treatment stay are being included in the package.
