Masuk Ali Talks About His Spine Decompression Surgery in India:
Masuk Ali is from Fiji. His sudden deterioration of health rendered him to be bedridden for the past 6 months. Doctors at Fiji could not diagnose his illness. He could not walk and suffered severe abdominal pain. Desperate for a treatment, when he came across Vaidam Health, he packed his bags and came to India for his treatment.
What did you suffer from?
I did not know what I suffered from till I came to India. Back in Fiji I did visit several doctors but none of them could diagnose properly. I could not walk, suffered abdominal pain and as time passed I got bed ridden and I had been like that for 6 months. Here my doctor diagnosed that I am having cervical spine spondylitis.
Which hospital did you go to in India?
In India, I went to Rockland Hospital for my treatment. Dr. Harshvardhan Hedge told me that I would require a spinal decompression surgery and I complied.
How was your treatment at Rockland Hospital?
It was fine. I never thought that I could walk again. But in just three days after my surgery I could walk again. It was like a miracle. Me and my wife are really happy. I pay my heartiest gratitude to Dr. Hegde for recovering me and making me stand on my feet again. Rockland Hospital is also very well maintained and advanced and my treatment was also affordable there.
How did Vaidam help you in finding the doctor and the hospital?
Since I didn’t know what problem I had, I visited some hospitals when I came to India. The team of Vaidam assisted and accompanied me to all the hospitals. I visited several specialties of the hospitals: there was urology, gastroenterology, oncology, pain clinic, internal medicine and spine. Vaidam had even negotiated with the hospital regarding the cost of the treatment since I had a certain budget constraint and I must say that it was really helpful. Without that it wouldn’t have been possible for me to have my treatment in India.
For how many days did you have to stay in the hospital?
Only 4 days. The rest of the six weeks were spent in physiotherapy and follow-ups. During that time I was in my hotel.
