- Dr. Ang received his medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1989, and from 1994 to 1999, he trained in plastic surgery at the Singapore General Hospital.
- Dr. Ang completed a year of subspecialty training at the Division of Plastic Surgery, University of Toronto, after receiving funding from the Ministry of Health's Human Manpower Development Program (1999-2000). Midway through 2000, he made his way back to Singapore, where he was named Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital. He belongs to the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Plastic Surgery).
- He has had a private practise since 2005 and is permitted to work at different Singaporean private hospitals.
