Sling procedure for urinary incontinence is being used in treating urinary incontinence, in this procedure a sling is being placed around the urethra for lifting it back to its normal position so that it exert pressure on urethra to help in retention  of urine.

• Single-incision mini method: A small cut is being made in your vagina and the sling is put through it, no stitches are needed to attach the sling. With time there is formation of scar tissue to keep it in place.

In traditional sling surgery a strip of tissue is being taken from your stomach or thigh to make it sling type. Then two cuts are being made one in vagina and other in belly, sling is being stretched through the cut in your stomach and then it is being stretched to inside of your stomach wall.

In men, a small cut is being made between the scortum and the anus and then a sling is put around the part of uethral bulb which will squeeze and lift the urethra and  will help in preventing leakage.

After the procedure you will need a catheter till healing is complete you will need a catheter till your healing is complete.  A thin small flexible tube is used which helps in draining your urine from the body when you cannot go for urination.

After the procedure it is possible that you may have some pain for few days or weeks after the procedure. You should not put any strain, do exercise or lift anything heavy till your doctor tells you are completely fine with it.

Some of the side effects of the procedure include difficulty in urination, urinary tract infection, pain during sex and frequent urination.

After the surgery you will definitely have some form of pain and discomfort, you may experience some kind of pain in your legs and thighs for up to two weeks or more and in some women this can last more than it.
