Patient Returns to Kenya after a Successful Heart Diagnosis in India

42 yrs old Sheikha Abdalla had been feeling exhausted and short of breath for months, but it wasn’t until one day when she suffered heart palpitations on her way home that she decided to see a doctor about her symptoms. Her doctors in Kenya concluded her complication as a cardiac problem and requested for further treatment which included investigations on possible heart failure. This diagnosis came as a huge blow, as this was the first occurrence with no one in her family being diagnosed with heart complications since.

Determined to find the right treatment, Sheikha began doing extensive research into various health complications of heart failure and symptoms related. Based on her discussions with friends and family, and extensive researched on the internet and came across Vaidam. Keeping her options on the table, she decided to reach-out to BL Kapoor Hospital in New Delhi and be treated by Dr. Subhash Chandra, Head of Department Cardiology. Although, along the way her apprehensions of traveling to another country were real, she realized the opportunities for getting the best treatment and experiencing a whole new country were not going to come by easily.

Sheikha arrived in New Delhi with her husband and eldest daughter during the last week of January and was subsequently treated at one of the top 10 heart hospitals in India - BL Kapoor Hospital. What came next was going to rock Sheikha and her family to the core, “I couldn’t believe my ears when the doctor told me that no surgery was required”. Upon hearing this news she was both relieved and shocked at the same time, “with the right doctor and better diagnosis it came out that no surgery was required, thankfully I won’t have to go through the long surgery”.  The doctor’s diagnosis was that there were no issues over vasculature and that she was going to be under medical examination for the next few days.

In due course, her symptoms were heavily investigated and she was kept under heavy medical management. Sheikha remained in the hospital for seven days, and on the seventh day, she walked out of the hospital with her family, content about her decision to come to India for her treatment. “I am so happy now, I don’t have to visit the hospital anymore”, she said with a smile. Sheikha’s joy was evident for everyone to see.

Over the next few days, Sheikha and her family decided to enjoy their last few days in India. “We had always wanted to visit the Taj Mahal, it looked so beautiful in the pictures”.  Her dream came true when the family visited the 7^th Wonder in the quite town of Agra 200 km from New Delhi. Before she left for her hometown in Kenya, she met the Vaidam team. “Thank you for your help, I really appreciate your support for fixing an appointment with the best cardiologist in India."

Two weeks after returning to her home in Kenya she still vividly remembers her journey to India and is filled with joy with returning to her old life. She sends us a picture that we share with you.
