About Hospital
- Established in 1918, the hospital served as a military hospital for the British Army during the end of World War I.
- Formerly known as Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, the hospital was renamed after the former Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Shamir in April 2017.
- It is the fourth largest government hospital in Israel with a capacity of approximately 900 beds.
- Located southeast of Tel Aviv, the hospital serves a population of over one million people in Israel’s Central District.

- The center has a special unit for PCR and serology testing that is administered by a professional team. The results for the same are automatically transmitted to the Ministry of Health.
