During the 4 hours before your appointment time, do not consume anything except water. Blood sugar will be checked before the scan. If the doctors find abnormal blood sugar levels, the scan will be canceled. This test cost is covered in the package, but the advance will not be refunded if the appointment got canceled.
The medicines available in the hospital are included in the package. However, any medications consumed by the patient outside the hospital charge extra.
PET Scans are usually carried out on an outpatient basis, which means you don’t have to stay in the hospital overnight. After the medicine is injected, you have to rest for about 45-60 minutes in the isolation room without moving and talking. After the test, you can go home and resume your normal activities. You have to stay outside the hospital and visit your doctor 1 or 2 weeks after the scan to get the results.
