After deep brain stimulation surgery, you need to stay in the hospital for 24 hours, and the doctor will ensure that you are ready to leave. Usually, patients who undergo craniotomy for a brain tumor have to stay 3-4 days in the hospital post-surgery. If they have any postoperative difficulties, the stay may be longer. Postoperative neurosurgery follow-ups can’t be avoided and are usually scheduled 1-2 weeks after the surgery. 

It typically takes 4-8 weeks to recover fully after any neurosurgery, but recovery also depends on the procedure. Depending on your functional abilities following surgeries, occupational therapists and physical therapists will evaluate you. You may have to take physiotherapies and speech and language therapies which are not included in the package.

Health insurance provides coverage for neurosurgery which include hospitalization, ambulance services, ICU charges, and post-hospitalization.

Patients can undergo chemotherapy, physical therapy, radiation therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. But, neurosurgery is needed to combat the disease.
