Certain tests are required before an ICSI procedure, including blood tests of females, serum test or ultrasonography for ovarian reserve, Anti-Mullerian Hormone test, testing level of Follicle-stimulating hormone & Estradiol, antral follicle count, uterus examination, and semen analysis of males. The test costs are covered in the package.
The pharmacy and medicines costs are included in the package during the time frame when the patient is in the hospital. Any medicines taken from outside the hospital will not be covered in the package.
One cycle of ICSI takes between 4-6 weeks to complete. The couple can spend half of their day at the clinic for the egg and sperm retrieval procedures. After that, they can come back between two days and five days later for the embryo transfer procedure. You have to wait 9-11 days after the transfer to find out the result. Your body begins to produce a detectable HCG level once the embryo has had time to implant in the uterine lining. Your doctor will recommend doing a blood test to check if you are pregnant. If the result is positive, you have to continue the medicines, and the doctor will do a blood test every day to ensure your HCG level is rising. The first sonogram will be scheduled for six weeks of gestation.
