Diagnostic hysterectomy is the surgery which is being used for removing the uterus by making a cut in the belly region.

Diagnostic hysterectomy is being used in many cases such as cancer,  fibroids, heavy bleeding, endometrosis, pelvic pain,  precancerous or cancerous cells, prolapsed uterus or precancerous or cancerous cells on uterus lining.

The catheter and the bladder are removed after one to two days of the surgery.  You have to be in hospital for two to five days after surgery, you can go home but you have to keep catheter in your bladder till your bladder starts to working.

You have to take plenty of rest once you go home, you should restrain yourself from lifting heavy objects or to put any strain in your stomach. Your doctor will provide you the instructions to get relief from acidity, pain and to prevent constipation.

It will take around four to six weeks to recover from your diagnostic hysterectomy procedure. Once your uterus is being removed there are no chances that you will get pregnant.

Some of the risks associated with this procedure includes infection, bleeding and minor discomfort.

You should call your doctor if you are having high fever, feeling dizzy, nauseous, vomiting, having chest pain, shortness of breath, heavy bleeding from vagina, pain during urinatuin, swelling or redness then you should contact with your doctor.
