Diagnostic hysterectomy is the surgery which is being used for removing the uterus by making a cut in the belly region.
Diagnostic hysterectomy is being used in many cases such as cancer, fibroids, heavy bleeding, endometrosis, pelvic pain, precancerous or cancerous cells, prolapsed uterus or precancerous or cancerous cells on uterus lining.
Hysterectomy procedure will take care of all the problems that you are dealing with such as if your tumors is being removed it will stop your menstrual period and some amount of pain which you are having.
Some women may feel only mild to moderate pain during the procedure but for other people the pain can increase and it can be severe also.
Diagnostic hysterectomy procedure will take around one to two hour to be done under general anaesthesia.
Before and after the procedure you should quit smoking because smoking delays the rate of healing after surgery. If you are taking any medicines inform your doctor about it before surgery. Follow the instructions which your doctor tells you before surgery don’t eat or drink anything after midnight or morning before the procedure.
This procedure is being done under general anaesthesia. First a cut is being made in your belly region and then doctor separated the ligaments and blood vessels so that they will heal and will not bleed. After that uterus is being removed by cutting at the top of vagina and the vaginal top is being stitched so close that no hole is being left.
The catheter and the bladder are removed after one to two days of the surgery. You have to be in hospital for two to five days after surgery, you can go home but you have to keep catheter in your bladder till your bladder starts to working.
You have to take plenty of rest once you go home, you should restrain yourself from lifting heavy objects or to put any strain in your stomach. Your doctor will provide you the instructions to get relief from acidity, pain and to prevent constipation.
It will take around four to six weeks to recover from your diagnostic hysterectomy procedure. Once your uterus is being removed there are no chances that you will get pregnant.
Some of the risks associated with this procedure includes infection, bleeding and minor discomfort.
You should call your doctor if you are having high fever, feeling dizzy, nauseous, vomiting, having chest pain, shortness of breath, heavy bleeding from vagina, pain during urinatuin, swelling or redness then you should contact with your doctor.
