Botulinum toxin are also known as Botox, they are mainly used for smoothening the wrinkles preventing headache due to migraine and for treating other health conditions as well.

Repeated muscles contractions cause wrinkles on face. Botulinum toxin temporary block the nerve signals to the muscles because of which the injected muscles will not contract and they become weak and paralyzed, the effect of botulinum toxin injection lasts for few months.  In one session different areas of the face can be treated.

Some of the long term side effects of Botox injection are muscle weakness at the site of injection, smooth appearance of skin at the injection site and gradual muscle atrophy with prolonged usage.

Botox are being injected with a micro needle, mostly it is being done in the forehead and the outer areas of your eyes. One  to three  injections are usually given for each muscle.

When applied with topical anaesthetic the procedure is virtually painless even without a numbing agent the pain is minimal you may only feel a little pinch.

Common side effects may include muscle weakness near the injection site, difficulty swallowing, muscle stiffness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, among others. You may also notice bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. As with any time the skin is pierced by an injection, there is a chance for infection.
