Arthrodesis is the process of fusion of two or more bones in joint. In this process the diseased cartilage is removed the bone ends are cut off and the two ends of bones are fused with one solid bone with one metal internal fixation.

The most common point where arthrodesis are located are the wrist, knee, hip or spine and the actual fusion is done by various methods such as use of surgical pins or straps.

Arthrodesis is used to treat severe arthritis pain, in this procedure the two bones are weld together which makes up the aching joint, this procedure causes bone to become solid which can reduce your pain.
