Daulatram Jogawat is a police inspector who weighed 180kgs. In spite of being efficient in his work and winning over 200 awards in his 37 years of career, he had been fat shamed over social media for the past three years because of his weight.
But Jogawat finally decided to undergo a bariatric treatment when he was fat shamed over twitter by an eminent Indian columnist.
Last Thursday, he underwent a successful bariatric treatment of Roux en Y Gastric Bypass Surgery at Saifee Hospital. According to Dr. Mufazzal Lakdawala (his doctor), Jogawat is going to lose about 80kgs by this year.
The reason for Jogawat's obesity lay in the gall bladder surgery that he had undergone in 1993. Since then he has been suffering from hormonal imbalances as the surgery has caused insulin impairment in his body. This consequently led to his weight gain.
According to the doctors in the hospital, Jogawat’s condition is now stable and he will be discharged within a couple of days.
