Eligibility for Indian Medical Visa from Somalia

For the application of Indian medical visa, the sole purpose of visit of the applicants should be medical treatment.

Hospitals in India consulted by the patients should be recognized/reputed/specialized.

Maximum two medical attendants are allowed to accompany the patient who is his/her family member/relative/spouse.

A medical visa is granted for cardiology treatments, neurology treatments, orthopedic treatment, organ transplantations, congenital deformity / disease and others that are included in its non-exhaustive list.
Important Documents Required for Indian Medical Visa from Somalia

Original passport with 6 months validity.

Print of completely filled online application form.

Copy of ticket (both sides).

Medical report from the local doctor in Somalia

Visa invitation letter from the concerned hospital in India.

Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.

Copy of bank statement as proof of funds.

Letter of police verification from the local police.

A letter of no objection from the concerned Embassy of Somalia (Ethiopia / Kenya) from where the patient is applying for medical visa.
Note: The No Objection Letter is retrieved from the Embassy of Somalia located in Kenya and Ethiopia whereas the medical visa application has to be submitted at the Indian High Commission of any of the two countries.
Online Application of Indian Medical Visa from Somalia

In the website of Indian Visa Online, click on Regular Visa Application and select the following from the drop down:

Select your date of birth and the estimated arrival date, enter your email ID and the access code and click Continue.

Fill the three paged online application form with correct information. Click on Save and Continue at the end of each age.

Enter details about yourself and your passport in the first page of the form.

Provide details concerning your present address, your permanent address, family and your profession / occupation in the second page.

Enter particulars regarding the local hospital consulted, the hospital in India you will be having treatment in, time required for the treatment, no. of entries, purpose of visit, expected date of journey, arrival and departure dates, your previous trip to SAARC countries and reference.

If you are travelling to India for your medical treatment through Vaidam’s assistance then you can provide the company’s contact details as reference in case you do not have one in India.

You will have to upload your photograph following the guidelines listed below:

The size of the photo should not be more than 15-20 KB and of size 2inch x 2inch.

JPEG should be the format of the photo.
-
The photo should have equal height and width with dimensions between 350 and 1000 pixels.

Full face of the applicant should be clear in the photo with frontal view and eyes open.

The background color should be white / light colored.
-
There should be no borders / shadows on the face and the background.

Go through the preview of the application form that appears on a new window after you click on Save and Continue on the last page of the form.

Click on Verfied and Continue if all the details entered by you are correct. In case of changes and rectifications, click on Modify and Edit.

Read the set of instructions that appear on a new window carefully and click on Confirm the Appointment. To change any of the data, click Cancel.

Select a suitable date of appointment for the submission of the online visa application at the concerned Mission Counter.

Save your online visa application form before you print it.

Go to the homepage of the Indian Visa Online website and click on Print Registered Application.

Select your visa type and the Indian Mission, type in your application ID, date of birth, passport number and the access code and click on Reprint.

Put your full signature in the required places in the form and submit the application along with the necessary documents at the Mission Counter on the appointed date. The date is mentioned at the right margin of the application.
Indian Medical Visa Processing Fees
The processing fee of Indian medical visa is USD 80. In case the patient applies for an emergency medical visa, the cost would be USD 120.
A charge of USD 50 is incurred by the applicants for the No Objection letter issued by the Somalian Embassy.

Medical Visa Extension
Medical visa extension is required when one has to stay in India for his/her treatment beyond the duration of his/her medical visa. In that case, after his/her medical visa expires or just a few days before its expiry date, one has to go to the FRRO office along with an official document from the hospital stating the patient’s name, his/her treatment procedure and the extra time required for the completion of his / her treatment and other necessary documents .
FRRO
It is mandatory for international travellers to get themselves registered at FRRO offices after their arrival in India. FRRO or Foreign Regional Registration Office administers the important official nuances regarding the visa, arrival, stay and departure of foreigners. The documents required for an FRRO registration is listed below:
