Medical Visa from Mauritius to India


Eligibility for Indian Medical Visa from Mauritius 

  • Medical visa from Mauritius to India should be applied for when the applicant is planning to travel only for medical treatment.

  • Patient should consult only reputed/recognized/specialized hospitals in India.

  • Not more than two medical attendants are allowed with the patient during their medical trip to India.

  • The non-exhaustive list of treatments for which medical visa is granted include neurology, congenital deformity, cardiology, orthopedic, cosmetic treatments, organ transplantations and others. 

 

Important Documents Required for Indian Medical Visa from Mauritius

  • Original passport with a validity of 6 months.

  • Print of complete online visa application form filled with block letters.

  • Two recent passport photographs. One should be pasted in the concerned photo box in the form and the other to be pasted. The photographs should adhere to the criteria mentioned here.  

  • Official letter from the concerned hospital in India or the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life in Mauritius stating the name of the patient and the medical attendant, his/her passport details and expected date of journey.

 

Online Application of Indian Medical Visa from Mauritius

  • In the government website of Indian Visa Online, click on Regular Visa Application.

  • Select the name of your country, high commission, nationality from the drop down sections, put your date of birth, enter your email id and expected date of arrival, select the visa type and the purpose of your visit from the drop down section, enter the access code and click on Continue.

  • Fill up each of the three pages that the online visa application form consist of and click Save and Continue at the bottom of each page.

  • Enter details regarding your family address and profession.

  • Fill in with particulars regarding your visa application that constitutes the local hospital in your country, the hospital you will have treatment in India, time taken for the treatment, no. of entries, purpose of your visit to India, expected date of journey, estimated arrival in and departure from the country, details about your previous to SAARC countries and reference.   

  • In case you do not have a reference in India, you can provide Vaidam’s contact details, only if you travel through the company’s assistance.

  • After you complete the form and click on Save and Continue on the third page, go through the preview of the visa application form that appears in a new window. For alterations/changes in any of the data click on Modify/Edit else click on Verified and Continue.

  • Go through the set of instructions that appear on the screen. In case you have to make any changes, click on Cancel else click on Confirm the Appointment.

  • Select a convenient date of appointment for the submission of your visa application at the Mission Counter.

  • Click on Save when you are provided with two options on a new window thereafter. On printing it immediately, you may lose the application.

  • After to you save it, go to the homepage of Indian Visa Online website and click on Print Registered Application.

  • Select the type of visa you have applied for and the Indian Mission, enter your application ID, date of birth, passport number and the access code to get the print out.

  • Affix a passport size picture and put your full signature in the required sections in the form.

  • Submit the application form along with the necessary documents at the Mission Counter on the appointed date. The date is mentioned at the right margin of the application.

 

Indian Medical Visa Processing Fee

Mauritian nationals are granted gratis medical visa, that is, the patient or the medical attendant would not have to pay any amount for the application or the processing of their visa. Other nationals who are granted gratis visa are:

  • Afghanistan

  • Argentina

  • Bangladesh

  • Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

  • Jamaica

  • Maldives

  • Mongolia

  • South Africa

  • Uruguay

Medical Visa Information after Your Arrival in India

Medical Visa Extension

One requires a medical visa extension when his/her span of treatment exceeds the duration of his/her medical visa. In order to increase the number of days of stay in the country and continue the treatment, it is necessary for the patient to apply for a medical visa extension after or just before his/her medical visa expires at the FRRO office. To apply for it, he/she has to get an official letter from the concerned hospital that mentions the patient’s name, treatment procedure and the extra time required for his/her complete recovery and other necessary documents.    

 

FRRO

When an international traveller arrives in India, irrespective of the purpose of visit, he/she has to get himself/herself registered at the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO). They cater to the necessary official nuances related to visa, arrival, stay and departure of foreigners. Below is listed the documents required for FRRO registration:   

  • Application form.

  • Photocopy of the passport and the initial visa.

  • Four photographs of the applicant.

  • Details of his/her stay in India.

 

E-Tourist Visa from Mauritius to India

E-tourist visa can be used for medical travel when patients require short term medical treatments or check-ups. Here are the documents that are required for E-tourist visa. 

  • PDF version of the scanned first page of the passport. 

  • The size of the PDF should be 10KB to 300KB.

  • A digital photograph is to be uploaded. The photograph should maintain the following criteria:

    • Size: 10KB to 1MB

    • The height and width of the photo should be equal.

    • Photo should have full face, front view and eyes open.

    • Center head within the frame. Head from top of the hair to the bottom of the chin of the individual should be prominent. 

    • Background should be plain light colored or white.

    • There should be no shadows on the face or on the background.

    • The photo should not have any borders.
