Ms. Celestina was born with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), a congenital heart condition in which there is an opening between the upper chambers of the heart. In August 1999, she underwent a successful ASD closure surgery in India, where Dr. Vijay Dikshit was among the cardiac surgeons involved in her treatment.

Following the surgery, she returned to Tanzania and continued her routine cardiac follow-ups with her local doctors. Over the years, her recovery remained smooth, and she was able to lead a healthy and active life.
