I am Tonawa Abel from Benin. I am 48 years old. 

What brought you to India?

I was facing some problems related to urination since last year. When the symptoms did not go away on their own, consulted a urologist. The urologist after examination told me that my prostate gland was enlarged and I would need treatment. However, due to limited resources in my country, I decided to visit India to get my treatment done.   

How did you choose the doctor and the hospital?

While searching on the internet for the best urologists in India, we found out about Vaidam Health, which would assist us in everything related to the treatment. I posted a query and received a call shortly after that. I was asked to share my reports and pictures to get the hospital opinion. After I shared my reports, I got a list of some top dermatology hospitals. The case manager, Aditi Sabharwal also helped me in selecting the hospital. She informed me about cost, accommodations nearby and the doctors available. Finally, I was to decide to visit Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. 

How did you get the visa and arrange your stay?

This process was also made easier by the Vaidam team. They helped me getting the Visa Invitation Letter from the hospital. After getting it, I applied for the visa and received it within a week. My hotel stay was also arranged by Vaidam. It was booked on the basis of my closest proximity to the hotel, ease of commuting and also on my other preferences.

Tell us about your experience after reaching India.

After my arrival in India on 4th June 2019, a person from Vaidam team was waiting outside the airport to pick me up and drop at my hotel. After getting some rest and freshening up, I had my appointment fixed with the doctor. During the appointment, the doctor patiently heard my entire story from the beginning, saw my reports, and did a physical examination. He then ordered further investigations and other tests. After getting the reports, the doctor counseled me for lifestyle changes and also recommended to have medical management.
