Raj Kumar from Fiji had problem in breathing. On July 2016, his angiogram showed that his heart requires a little attention. After searching in the internet for his treatment, he finally came to India for recovering from his acquired cardiac disease.
Why did you have such shortness of breath?
Initially, I couldn’t even guess that I have a heart disease. I thought I had some general breathing problem but later I got to know that I was suffering from Triple Ventricle Disease (TVD). My arteries were blocked and that had led to the shortness of breath and rigorous coughing at night.
When did you come to know that you are having TVD?
I went to one of the local hospitals back in Fiji, where an angiogram was performed. It is through that angiogram that I got to know that I am having TVD and have high susceptibility to heart failure. Sadly, they don’t perform heart bypass surgeries so I looked elsewhere.
Where did you have your treatment in India?
I had my treatment at BLK Hospital in New Delhi. Amongst the various doctors suggested to me by Vaidam Health I chose Dr. Ajay Kaul. He performed the CABG surgery on me.
How did you find Vaidam Health?
I found Vaidam Health through the internet. I had dropped a query in their website and they responded.
How was your treatment at BLK Hospital?
It was really nice. Everyone was very cordial and took good care of me. Dr.Kaul is a very good surgeon. I can rely on him completely. He added 10 – 15 years to my life. The cost of the treatment was also very affordable. The infrastructure and the facilities of the hospital are commendable and Vaidam’s patient manager was there with me too. So, I did not face any problem at all.
For how long did stay in the hospital?
I was there in the hospital for 8 days. The rest of the days I was in my hotel. I and my brother also had a short tour in many of the places in India which was arranged by Vaidam.
Did you like Vaidam’s services?
Of course I did. They were very helpful. From the moment I contacted them they had helped me. They suggested me with doctors and hospitals, gave me the cost estimate of the treatment and assisted me in getting a visa. My brother had a trouble in his visa application and Vaidam had sorted it out. When I came to India, I didn’t have to worry about anything because everything was so well managed and arranged. Pick-up facilities and accommodation was provided. They accompanied me to the hospital for my treatment and even arranged a tour for us to Mathura, Vrindavan, Jaipur, Agra and Haridwar.
Your brother, Pranil, had his birthday during your stay in India. Did you celebrate?
It was the most special part of my medical tour to India. Vaidam celebrated my brother's birthday this year and threw a short party. We had a lot of fun. The team of Vaidam is like a family now. I don’t think anyone would be so caring as Vaidam is as they not only took care of my treatment but made sure that I don’t feel sad or left out in any manner.
