Funzo from Nigeria Roots out Neck Pain after Surgical Treatment

Often do we ignore the little signs and symptoms that our body gives us. It is only when these signs get aggravated, we do not just notice them and but get anxious. We realise its value only when one of our body parts gets injured and stops working. Something similar to this happened to Funso Alao, whose minor ache in neck eventually led to cervical spondylosis.

When Funso got diagnosed with Cervical Spondylitis

After paying no heed to the little pain in the neck during a movement, when the neck movement stopped entirely, he had to consult a spine surgeon nearby. Hunt for the right hospital

While exploring the best spine surgery hospitals in India, he stumbled upon the website of Vaidam Health. The next few moments had him posting a query on the website. Shortly he received a call back from one of the case managers of the team, who took the reports and shared them with some of the top spine surgeons in India. Within a couple of days, the case manager got him the treatment options with estimated cost, also shared the profiles. After going through the profiles, Funso finally decided to visit Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

Procedure to get the medical visa

Immediately after his decision, the team started the visa application process. The details were taken from the patient. The Visa Invitation Letter was arranged from the hospital. About 72 hours after the visa application procedure was complete, Funzo received his medical visa on his email Id. Everything else including his place of accommodation was arranged as per his preferences along with the airport pick up and drop off was also arranged.

Funso’s treatment journey in India

After his arrival in India on August 15th 2019, he was picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel. Next day his appointment was scheduled with Dr Rajendra Prasad, one of the finest neurosurgeons in India. The doctor listened to him patiently and did a clinical examination meticulously. He also ordered some more investigations such as MRI cervical spine. The reports suggested that he would need spine surgery. The doctor explained to him about the surgery, Microdiscectomy. The damaged disc portion would be removed to relieve the pain. After he was convinced, the surgery was performed on the scheduled date. Funzo stayed in the hospital for a few days and then discharged.
