Fatima from Malawi gets Lung Cancer Treatment in India
Fatima Hasan Ibramgi Sulemana from Malawi was diagnosed with lung cancer a while back. Even though she immediately started the treatment, her condition only got worse over time. Finally her doctor advised her to visit India for better treatment with the latest devices.
Fatima’s daughter instantly started looking for the top cancer doctors in India. While doing so, she found out about Vaidam and posted a query. She soon received a call back from the case manager, who provided her a few opinions along with the cost estimate. Some profiles of the top hospitals were also shared with Fatima’s daughter. After going through the profiles, the family finally decided to visit Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai.
This was followed by the paperwork required to come to India. From arranging the Visa Invitation Letter to applying for the medical visa, the Vaidam team did everything. After the visa arrived and the tickets were booked, Fatima finally reached India. She had to change the ambulance twice because the oxygen supply was not sufficient for her. Her accommodation and airport pickup were arranged previously. Once she arrived, her appointment was scheduled with the doctor.
During her appointment with Dr. Boman Dhabar, she was examined meticulously and the tests were done. Finally, the doctor advised her to go for medical management. She underwent two sessions of chemotherapy and stayed for a month. Also being an HIV patient, the medical staff had to be very careful with her. Dr. Boman then advised her to come back for a followup and get an MRI done to see if another session was required.
When asked by her daughter about Fatima’s conditions, she said,” She has been keeping well. We wanted to thank you and your team and the hospital for all the support during our stay. Thank God, my mother’s health is much better now”.
